Synopsis[]
Aroree escapes and brings Windkin into the underground Blue Mountain cave-palace. Dewshine secretly has traveled with them on the great hawk. As soon as Aroree enters, Winnowill senses everything that has transpired on the outside of World of Two Moons and calls them forth.
Dewshine sneaks into Blue Mountain, while Aroree presents the infant before the Chosen Eight (10 in Elf-counting). But while Aroree offers the child, Dewshine has arrived, and Tyldak witnesses it flying towards his mother. The Chasing commences.
Power of the Soul name Revealed[]
While Dewshine is stealthy and able to hide in Blue Mountain, Winnowill knows her Soul name, and so has found Dewshine's spirit-form wherever it may be. When Winnowill sends
"LREE...!
COME TO ME...!"
it delivers a telepathic impulse that paralyses Dewshine and is heard by all of her family, most especially Scouter. It is moments like these that eventually set Dewshine against her indifferent recognized mate, Tyldak and become Scouter's life partner.
Somnambulance[]
The capturing of Dewshine and Windkin evidences for Aroree the corruption of her cave kingdom. All besides the Chosen Eight (10 in Elf-counting), are a shade darker towards the sleepier side of somnambulance, floating haplessly around Egg Egg's Egg, dreary-eyed.
Kureel, one of the Chosen Eight (10 in Elf-counting), congratulates Aroree but then arrests her, and Aroree is left but with the choice to kill him, so she does, becoming automatically expelled from the Gliders, and leaving the Chosen Eight with Six.
Business with Olbar The Mountain Tall & the Humans[]
We learn that Olbar, Nonna, and Adar all live with the Wolfriders in the Siege at Blue Mountain Series in #2, and in their prosperous town, consisting of straw-mud huts and a city-wall made of fags, Cutter visits them.
Olbar expresses that he mistrusts Elves, but he and Cutter essentially leave on good terms. This is not the same human-tribe who worship the Gliders as Bird-Spirits. Olbar is afraid of the Preservers because they hid Selah, his daughter, from him for a whole year (SEE EQ #10).
Cutter begins his mission of diplomacy, as Nonna and Adar set off with him to try and finally befriend Nonna's former tribe, the Bird-Spirit-Worshippers who live at the foot of Blue Mountain. They will arrive to greet Scouter there in EQ:SaBM#4.
