Lutei was a Sun Villager, the lifemate of Newstar and the father of Kimo. It is unknown exactly when he recognized Newstar.
He was killed in the Go-Backs' invasion of Sorrow's End. His son, Kimo, was seriously injured during the battle but survived thanks to Leetah and Mender. He appears in the Final Quest as a spirit of the Palace, telling Newstar to move on and find someone new. As he is talking to her, his brother Ohler arrives and confesses his feelings for Newstar. They would later become lifemates.
