Freefoot is the sixth Wolfriders chief and the son of Huntress Skyfire and Dreamsinger. The lifemate of Starflower, they had three sons Fangslayer, Long Oak and Tanner and a daughter Feather. Freefoot also recognized Two-Shadows and they had a son Hawkcatcher.

Freefoot is born into an obscure generation of Wolfriders. Among his clan are Suretrail, Sunset, Lonebriar, Shadowflash, Smarthand, and Stringsong.

He died heroically when he got struck by lightning while trying to save a cub that went into a tree out of fear for the lightning.
